The total Western European LFP market was close to 15,500 units in 3Q13. The largest decline was in LED technology, which declined more than 13%, while inkjet technology declined 2.6% YoY. UV inkjet printers, however, increased by more than 30% in 3Q year on year.
"Better expectations in the economy could improve the advertising and construction industries, having a positive effect on the LFP market in Western Europe," said Julio Vial, research manager, Western European LFP Tracker.
The technical segment continued to be the largest market in Western Europe, with more than 60% share of the application type. The market increased 0.1% year on year.
The graphics segment decreased from 41.5% share in 3Q12 to 39.7% in 3Q13, declining by more than 7% in 3Q (YoY).
The top 3 vendors in Western Europe were HP, Canon, and Epson, together accounting for 89.3% of total LFP shipments.
