IBM ist laut Gartner Marktführer im Server-Markt im dritten Quartal 2009

Zum sechsten Mal in Folge an der Spitze / Zuwachs bei x86, Blades und UNIX

IBM (NYSE: IBM) führt laut einem aktuellen Gartner-Report auch im dritten Quartal 2009 den weltweiten Server-Markt an. Laut Gartner hielt IBM in Q3 2009 31,7 Prozent Marktanteile, der nächste Wettbwerber hielt 30,2 Prozent. Der Zugewinn von IBM wurden ermöglicht durch Zuwächse bei den Intelbasierten Servern und bei den UNIX-Systemen.

IBM gewann laut Gartner 1,2 Prozentpunkte Marktanteil. Bereits zum sechsten Mal in Folge ist IBM laut Gartner-Report beim weltweiten Umsatz im Serverbereich Marktführer.

Weitere wichtige Ergebnisse des Gartner-Reports für Q3 2009:

- IBM führt seinen Erfolg mit x86basierten Servern, insbesondere Blades, fort. Die Produktfamilie System x gewinnt 2,2 Prozentpunkte Marktanteil im dritten Quartal 2009, das dritte Quartal mit steigendem Marktanteil in Folge. IBM Blades konnten 4,9 Prozentpunkte Marktanteil gewinnen.

- Bei den UNIX-Servern konnte IBM 4,2 Prozentpunkte Marktanteil gewinnen. Mit 38,4 Prozent Marktanteil ist IBM im UNIX-Segment Marktführer.

- Wie bereits in den vergangenen Jahren ist IBM in Q3 2009 mit 34,8 Prozentpunkten Marktanteil Marktführer bei den System z-Großrechnern in der Klasse über 250.000 US Dollar Anschaffungspreis.
