Oil-stop cable solves a familiar problem at Mercedes-Benz

New: Now also including actuating solenoid

(PresseBox) (Heusenstamm, )
The problem is a common one: As the result of a design flaw, oil is able to infiltrate the length of the harness and reach the control unit due to the capillary effect (which describes how liquids spread out in tight gaps, tubes and pipes). Here, individual components may be damaged, which in turn leads to electronics failure.

We have addressed the problem and are the first to offer a suitable oil-stop cable in the Elparts range on the independent automotive spare parts market. In the future, there will no longer be any trouble with oil loss and associated repair costs: The problem was solved by incorporating fine copper sleeves into the two lines of the oil-stop cable and also wrapping the cables with a heat shrink tube. Replacing the cable is also easier than you might think. The harness is detached from the sensor and the oil-stop cable is inserted between the connection on the sensor and the old harness.

Which engines are affected? Almost of Mercedes-Benz petrol engines beginning with the engine codes M111 and M271. Among others, this includes C-, CLK-, CLS- and E-Class models, in addition to the Sprinter series.

We now also offer the oil-stop cable in a set with the actuating solenoid (article number: 70277300). Both variants are now available in our Elparts range.
