Repairing instead of replacing – technical expertise for greater cost efficiency

HAVER & BOECKER offers repair solutions for products made of POROSTAR® wire mesh laminate

(PresseBox) (Oelde, )
A damaged filter plate or centrifugal basket made of metal mesh laminate doesn’t necessarily mean the end of its service life. In most cases, full functionality can be restored. With its tailored repair solutions for POROSTAR® laminate components, HAVER & BOECKER offers an economical and sustainable way to restore damaged filter components to working condition.

Depending on the type and extent of damage, two repair options are available: complete replacement of the mesh laminate or a partial repair. In both cases—using a filter plate as an example—the original flange ring is retained. In the case of a full replacement, the entire metal mesh laminate is exchanged, whereas in a partial repair, only the damaged area is renewed or repaired. This approach is particularly resource efficient, saving material, reducing costs, and significantly minimizing downtime.

Whether mechanical damage, pressure surges, or operational ageing—each component is individually analyzed, refurbished, and tested. “Many of our customers are surprised at how often repairs are possible—and how much can be saved as a result,” explains Christian Fortströer, Head of the Filterlayers Business Unit. “Under certain conditions, repairs can even be carried out directly on site.”

With decades of experience in processing metal mesh, HAVER & BOECKER not only ensures technical functionality but also process-specific quality—guaranteeing safe reintegration into the application. The benefits are clear: instead of investing in new filter components, customers receive high-quality refurbishment, reduce downtime, and preserve valuable resources.
