Creating room
Applying the new matrix switch provides flexibility to the studio infrastructure since each workstation can now be deployed for different tasks. The system's extender functionality eliminates any shortage of space. Computers can now be placed in a dedicated server room, giving room in the studio. Thus, the generated heat and noise leave the studio along with the computers. By creating such a convenient and less distracting studio environment, creative professionals can concentrate on the big picture and work at their best.
Unobtrusive maintenance and upgrades
The DVICenter DP32 also allows engineers and IT administrators to service and configure the connected computers without disturbing studio or post-production operatives. This way, the devices can be administered 24/7 while the creative staff remains concentrated and undisturbed.
Beyond the visible - the technology
With the new DVICenter, DVI signals can finally be processed by a matrix switch. The KVM - keyboard-video-mouse - broadcast solution provides a DVI resolution of 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz. Distances of up to 560 m over CAT cable can be bridged with no loss of quality when cascaded. The transmission via fiber optics is also supported extending the system range to up to 10,000 metres - a vital fact for the deployment in buildings with vertical fiber-based cabling. The 32 dynamic ports can easily be configured in steps of one for either connecting a user console or a computer module. Now you can decide for yourself which of the 32 ports you want to assign as user port and which as computer port. Cascading the system allows you to connect several thousands of computers instead of the usual 32. The DVICenter DP32 can be expanded on both the computer and the user side while software upgrades enhance its functional range. All configurations and rights management adjustments can be entered easily in an intuitive web interface or via OSD.
Safety for mission-critical applications
The DVICenter DP32 does not only provide two network ports but is also equipped with two power sockets. An integrated web interface or SNMP allow proactive monitoring of the device status. Support of external directory services like LDAP or Active Directory are additional safety features that make the DVICenter DP32 the suitable device to apply in mission-critical environments such as broadcast live surroundings.
Live presentations by Omnio Technologies and G&D
The DVICenter DP32 and more of G&D's broad KVM product range are shown at BVE 2011 in London at stand C10. Guntermann & Drunck and their UK sales partner Omnio Technologies look forward to meeting industry professionals let them experience a first hand impression of the efficient DVI range.
