Effective 22 December, new index weights will apply for companies in equity indices of Deutsche Börse. Deutsche Börse released the preliminary weighting figures on Wednesday. An update of the preliminary weighting will be published on Friday. The preliminary data can be downloaded from the Deutsche Börse website. The final figures based on Friday's Xetra closing prices will be published on the Deutsche Börse website on Saturday. (www.deutsche-boerse.com/...)
The share of Beiersdorf will be included in DAX and will replace Continental.
Furthermore, Salzgitter will move to DAX, Hypo Real Estate will leave the index. The exclusion of Continental and Hypo Real Estate was based on the fast-exit rule, the shares do no longer meet the criteria in terms of market capitalization to remain in the DAX index.
The share of Continental will move to MDAX replacing the share of Beiersdorf.
At the same time Hypo Real Estate will be included in MDAX replacing the share of Salzgitter. Gerresheimer will be included in MDAX. AMB Generali leaves the index because of its free float of less than ten percent.
The share of Klöckner Werke will replace the share of Gerresheimer in SDAX.
Loewe will be included in SDAX, whereas IKB will leave the index, because of its free float of less than ten percent. HCI Capital will leave SDAX and will be replaced by Delticom.
Smartrac and Jenoptik will be included in TecDAX. Epcos and Versatel will leave the index. Both shares leaving the index will be replaced because of their free float of less than ten percent.
The next equity index review is scheduled for 4 March 2009.
