Deutsche Börse publishes Corporate Responsibility Report

(PresseBox) (Frankfurt am Main, )
Deutsche Börse Group has published its actual Corporate Responsibility Report. With the report, the company provides an overview of the broad range of CR initiatives the exchange operator is involved in on its home market Germany as well as on the european capital market. The initiatives are divided into the areas of corporate affairs, education and science, art and culture, and social affairs. The company s complete CR- report for the concluded financial year 2007 can be found at:

www.deutsche-börse.com/cr.

In the future, Deutsche Börse Group will publish information on its community and social projects on a quarterly basis as well.

Corporate affairs Deutsche Börse Group supports select economic initiatives that serve to promote the stock exchange and capital market culture.

This includes, for example, key, financial support for the Deutsches Aktieninstitut (DAI), the association of companies and institutions active on the German capital market. Not only with its regular publications such as "Finanzplatz-Report" does DAI offer independent platforms for discussion and shaping public opinion.

Deutsche Börse also promotes the Federation of European Stock Exchanges (FESE) headquartered in Brussels. FESE is especially important because of its association work at the European level. For example, the association organizes the annual international FESE convention, where representatives of the European capital market and governments discuss key issues relating to stock exchange regulation.

Deutsche Börse Group also provides financial support to the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE). In addition, it sponsors various activities in the Frankfurt financial center, such as the annual Finanzplatz Gala, which brings important representatives from finance, industry and politics together.

Education and science

Deutsche Börse Group considers education and science a key factor for Germany as a business location, whose importance is increasing. For this reason, part of the company s focus in its CR work is in this area.

Deutsche Börse Group supports the "Economics of Exchange"(X-Econ) research program of Frankfurt University s "Center for Financial Studies". The "House of Finance", which opened in spring 2008 to unite those university parts which offer interdisciplinary lectures on topics such as finance, money, currency and well as corporate law, also receives support from Deutsche Börse Group.

Moreover, since 1999, Deutsche Börse has supported the Goethe Business School in offering a continuing education program for managers in cooperation with the US Duke University.

Further educational institutions which receive support from Deutsche Börse Group are the European Business School, St. Anne s College of the Oxford University, as well as the full-time tri-lingual Erasmus School in Frankfurt.

Art and culture

In addition to topics that are relevant to economic development, Deutsche Börse Group is also committed to art and culture. The company supports various institutions and projects involved with fine art and music.

The focal point of the arts commitment is the promotion of contemporary photography. The stock exchange s premises regularly display temporary art exhibitions, which also offer younger generation photographic artists the opportunity to present their works. Deutsche Börse promotes the "Talents"

exhibition of "C/O Berlin", which offers a platform for aspiring photographic artists and critics. Since 2005, Deutsche Börse has been title sponsor of the "Deutsche Börse Photography Prize", which calls for entries across Europe and is annually awarded by the Photographers Gallery in London. Deutsche Börse is not only sponsor but also exhibitor for Frankfurt s Night of Museums, for the seventh year. The company supports the event as main sponsor and as a "museum for a night" and is presenting contemporary photographs from the Art Collection Deutsche Börse, in the Neue Börse.

Classical and contemporary music represents the second focus of promotion of the arts. In cooperation with Alte Oper, Frankfurt Deutsche Börse has supported the Deutsche Börse Jazz Nights and concerts featuring young musicians for many years.

Moreover, Deutsche Börse supports different institutions such as the Frankfurter Kunstverein, and Frankfurt s Schirn Kunsthalle art gallery as well as its Museum for Modern Art.

Social affairs

As Deutsche Börse Group believes the capital market and its institutions have a social responsibility to the community it also supports social projects, which have a special focus on promoting sustainable vocational training for young people. Employees from Frankfurt and Luxembourg actively participate in social institutions during the "Social Day" project. The "Charity Committee" selects and enables the promotion of a number of different projects in Luxembourg. Additionally, the company assists in diverse activities, including the "New Here" ("Neu hier") initiative in Frankfurt and the "Engage" job application workshop.
