GMR Safety, a Canadian company celebrating 30 years of expertise in industrial safety solutions, will also mark five years of a strong and growing presence in Germany at LogiMAT 2026 taking place in Stuttgart. Over the past years, an increasing number of European corporations have chosen GMR Safety’s vehicle restraint systems as a cornerstone of their safety commitment at loading docks. The company is thrilled to showcase its innovations and educate more people on the matter.

In this industry marked by ongoing labour shortages, delivery delays driven by the rapid growth of e-commerce, and geopolitical tensions affecting supply chains, employee retention has become a major challenge for the transport and logistics sectors and GMR Safety knows it. ‘’Implementing and maintaining high safety standards can be difficult, particularly at loading docks, where constant pressure exists to receive and ship goods as efficiently as possible. Our mission is to develop systems, install and assist our partners in the most efficient way so that they can focus on their operations with a peace-of-mind.’’ says Jay Jetté, CEO and founder of GMR Safety.

When vehicles are not properly secured, dock operators are exposed to numerous recurring risks, causing serious injuries every year. Trailer creep or movement can create a dangerous gap between the dock and the trailer, leading to forklifts and operators falling, sometimes with fatal consequences. Another frequent risk occurs when a driver pulls away prematurely while loading or unloading is still in progress. Unfortunately, in high-traffic environments, miscommunication can easily happen.

According to industry data, as recently as six years ago, in Germany, approximately 9% of all workplace accidents occurred at loading docks, and some of them were fatal. While this figure has remained relatively stable overall, companies that have invested in advanced dock safety solutions such as the Power Chock® and prioritised the well-being of their dock personnel have seen a significant reduction in accidents.

30 years of innovation

Engineered to secure trailers effectively, GMR Safety’s patented wheel-based vehicle restraint system that comes with a 5-year warranty, the Power Chock® is designed to significantly reduce the risk of serious loading dock accidents.

Based on fundamental principles of physics, the system restrains the vehicle at its most robust point: the wheel. It uses a 40cm wheel chock equipped with steel teeth on its lower surface, which interlocks with a ground-anchored plate fitted with latch bars. This mechanical interlocking mechanism secures the vehicle firmly in place at the dock, providing a restraining force of up to 22.7 tons, compared to approximately 14.5 tonnes for many competing systems.

All the models in the range have been developed to meet a wide variety of operational needs: from simple portable chocks to articulated-arm solutions to lockable systems, to multifunctional bilateral chocks specifically adapted for the e-commerce sector and even, an automated one. All models come with an audiovisual communication system and are fully comply with DGUV (German Social Accident Insurance) regulations on vehicle restraint systems for trucks at loading docks.

See for yourself

From March 24 to 26, attendees at LogiMAT 2026 are invited to experience the systems at stand 9C05, where GMR Safety experts will demonstrate the Power Chock® in action, discuss tailored solutions for different operations, and showcase how this technology can transform safety and efficiency at the dock. Don’t miss the opportunity to see why leading European logistics operators trust GMR Safety to protect their workforce every day.
