Flottweg is taking on the role of sponsoring company and host for the first time after Wacker stepped down as sponsor. "As a technical company, the promotion of STEM talent is a key concern for us. So it's a special honor for us to support Jugend forscht as a regional sponsor in 2022," explains Peter Frankfurter, Member of the Board of Directors. Flottweg is now organizing the Bavarian state competition every two years, alternating with the Dräxlmaier Group.
Since Jugend forscht was held virtually last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, it is not yet clear in which format the STEM competition will take place: “At the moment we are clarifying in which form we can organize Jugend forscht this year.", explains Marketing Manager Sven Bedö. "This will ultimately be determined by the infection situation. Irrespective of this, we are very excited to see what new ideas and inventions will be presented by the young people this year".
The aim of Jugend forscht is to awaken a love of natural sciences among young people and to promote creativity and curiosity. This year, the theme of the event will be “by chance”. Every year, the projects feature a wide variety of different fields, such as technology, chemistry or the working world. Following the state competition, the national finals will take place from May 26 to 29, 2022, where the best young researchers from all the states will once again present their ideas to a jury of experts.
