On 17 and 18 September 2025, the Fachverband Schaumkunststoffe und Polyurethane e.V. (FSK – Specialist Association Foamed Plastics and Polyurethanes) is organising the Specialist Day Polyurethanes in northern Italy. Together with member company Cannon SpA, the association's largest specialist group, the Polyurethanes specialist group, is organising an expert meeting in Milan. Registrations can be made via the FSK online registration tool.
The two-day event begins on 17 September 2025 with a visit to the Alfa Romeo Museum in Milan, Arese. This will be followed by the internal FSK specialist group meeting of the association's largest specialist group, the FG Polyurethanes. In particular, the election of the group spokespersons is on the agenda. Afterwards, all participants (including non-members) are invited to a cosy get-together and dinner together from 19:00 at the La Perla restaurant in Saronna.
The association gladly accepted Cannon SpA's invitation to organise the event in northern Italy. On the one hand, there have already been successful International Trade Days at Cannon SpA, and on the other, it is also a special year for the member company. Cannon SpA is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. The traditional family business shows that it is by no means old-fashioned, but rather highly modern and visionary. This is also due to the entrepreneurial spirit and ingenuity of the Volpato family, who recognised the enormous potential of plastics early on and committed themselves to the adventure in the polyurethane industry.
It is therefore a particular pleasure that Marco Volpato, President & CEO of the Cannon Group, will not miss the opportunity to welcome the participants of the symposium on the day of the lecture on 19 September 2025. In his presentation ‘Driving growth through collaboration and connection’, he impressively presents the company, its extraordinary development and current performance. During the subsequent factory tour of Cannon Afros in Caronno Pertusella, participants will be able to gain unique insights into the innovative strength of the Cannon Group.
This will be followed by a technical presentation from Electrolux SpA. Elio Toni - Global Manufacturing Engineering Food Preservation and Corrado Cecchini - Global R&D Food Preservation will present PU foaming process for domestic refrigerators: the Genesi line in Susegana, Italy. Massimo Gilardi - Technical & Plant Manager from Toscana Gomma SpA will present ‘Agile Foam: from car seats to pillows, adapting polyurethane moulding for different comfort needs’. COIM SpA will also be represented at the symposium. In his presentation ‘From Recycled to Bio-based: low-embodied carbon polyols for rigid PU foams’, R&D Manager Alessandro Gallipoli will introduce participants to one aspect of the topic of sustainability. The presentations will be held in English.
