EMC hat sein Highend Storage-System EMC Symmetrix V-Max mit neuen Funktionen sowie 8 Gb/s Konnektivität für höhere Flexibilität und Performance sowie verbesserte Rentabilität ausgestattet. Alle Software- Verbesserungen und die neuen Konfigurationen sind ab sofort verfügbar. Sie umfassen:

- Verbesserte Konnektivität durch nativen Support für 8Gb Fibre Channel, 8Gb/s FICON und 8Gb/s SRDF sowie Unterstützung des Mainframe zHPF Protokolls.
- Verbesserte Kapazitäten durch das neue "Zero Space Reclamation Feature" basierend auf der EMC Virtual Provisioning Software.
- Verbesserung der Replikationsfunktionen durch EMC TimeFinder/Clone Software.
- Neue Konfigurationsmöglichkeiten: 2 Engine- Konfiguration, skalierbar auf bis zu 1200 Laufwerke und 4-Engine-Konfiguration, skalierbar auf bis zu 2400 Laufwerke.
