EMC weitet Funktionsumfang fuer SAN-Diagnose aus

SAN Advisor 5.3 mit verbesserten Funktionalitaeten fuer Zoning, Virtuelle SAN-Konfigurationen und SAN-Richtlinien

Ab sofort ist die neue Version 5.3 der SAN-Management-Software ControlCenter SAN Advisor von EMC verfuegbar. Die Software fuer die Planung und Diagnose von Storage Area Networks (SAN) unterstuetzt in der neuen Version logische Konfigurationen fuer die Optimierung dieser Speichernetzwerke. So koennen Anwender bei bestehenden wie bei neuen SANs die Feinabstimmung hinsichtlich Interoperabilitaet, Geraetekonfiguration und Hochverfuegbarkeit einfacher und effizienter durchfuehren. Die Software bietet einen sicheren Rahmen, um am Modell Korrekturen und Aenderungen der Konfiguration zu simulieren, und erstellt detaillierte Checklisten fuer die Implementierung, so dass Anwender Fehlerbehebungen und Aenderungen ueberpruefen koennen. Damit reduzieren sie die Risiken, die mit Eingriffen in SAN-Konfigurationen verbunden sind. Die Software ist zu Preisen ab 5.000 US-Dollar ueber EMC und EMC Velocity Channel Partner erhaeltlich.

Neue Funktionen im Bereich Zoning ermoeglichen es, Aenderungen an bestehenden Zonen vorab zu simulieren und zu bewerten, neue Zonen zu modellieren und bei der SAN-Planung Richtlinien fuer einzelne Zonen zu implementieren.
Neben den bestehenden rund 150 Standardregeln fuer die Diagnose von SAN-Umgebungen koennen Anwender auch individuelle Regeln erstellen und ausgewaehlte Bereiche des Speichernetzwerkes separat ueberpruefen.
SAN Advisor 5.3 nutzt die EMC E-Lab Support Matrix, eine monatlich aktualisierte umfassende Online-Datenbank mit Informationen zur Storage Interoperabilitaet und zur Optimierung von SAN-Konfigurationen.
