EPG AURA Extends Operational Logistics with an AI-Native Intelligence Layer

Real-Time Perception, Analysis, and Orchestration

(PresseBox) (Boppard-Buchholz, )
With EPG AURA, the Ehrhardt Partner Group (EPG) is expanding its EPG ONE Suite with an AI-native intelligence layer that operates above existing execution systems. The goal is to continuously capture real events, data streams, and contextual information, interpret them, and make them usable for operational decision-making. The environment complements established applications in warehouse, transport, and material flow execution with an additional level of perception, analysis, and decision support. Information is provided contextually and integrated directly into familiar interaction patterns, without requiring new user interfaces or separate applications. With the introduction of EPG AURA, EPG is taking a strategic technological leap: operational logistics software is enhanced by a cognitive layer that systematically connects physical processes, digital execution data, and contextual knowledge. This creates a new foundation for adaptive, situation-based supply chain execution in live operations.

EPG AURA is designed as a modular, AI-native environment that provides customers with an accessible entry point to intelligent AI capabilities. The functions bundled within AURA do not represent a standalone product. Instead, they operate through an AI-native technology backbone combined with a semantic data model as a shared intelligence layer. Existing solutions within the EPG ONE Suite can be specifically supported and extended through AURA to achieve efficiency gains or enable easier operation through context-based decision support. “AURA is not just another software product but an environment that creates new freedom for our customers,” says Peter Bollinger, CEO of EPG. “It allows them to use existing solutions more intelligently while also creating entirely new applications. This openness and intuitive interaction were a core ambition for us in developing AURA.”

At the center of EPG AURA is the Cognitive Core, the technical and intelligent foundation of the environment. It brings together information from areas such as warehouse management, material flow control, workforce management, or transport processes. These inputs are semantically connected and contextualized into a consistent, end-to-end operational picture of the supply chain. The Cognitive Core interprets all information in a situation-based manner and provides it in a way that enables decisions to be made not from within the logic of individual applications, but from the broader logistics context. “Logistics systems will need to do more in the future than simply execute processes correctly,” explains Peter Bollinger. “They must be designed so that employees can act faster without relying on deep system expertise. With AURA, logistics understanding takes center stage, not the operation of individual applications. This is exactly what makes EPG AURA unique in the logistics market.”

AURA Observer: Perceiving What Really Happens in the Warehouse

The AURA Observer is the perception layer of EPG AURA. It captures operational processes directly within the real warehouse environment, using existing camera infrastructures as data sources. Through Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA), movements, interactions, and deviations are detected in real time. This makes it possible, for example, to objectively identify pallet dwell times in inbound areas, unusual movement patterns, or safety-relevant situations in warehouse operations—without relying solely on transactional system feedback. The AURA Observer operates in full compliance with data protection requirements and without traditional video surveillance. Beyond IVA, the AURA Observer also enables the structured capture and analysis of logistics-relevant documents through Intelligent Document Processing (IDP). This includes, for instance, inbound inspection records, customs and hazardous goods documentation, or air freight papers.

AURA Orchestrator: From Insights to Operational Decisions

The AURA Orchestrator coordinates logistics processes based on real-time status information from ERP, WMS, TMS, and other connected systems. Its goal is to ensure on-time deliveries and consistently efficient warehouse operations. To achieve this, all available data sources can be utilized and translated into actionable recommendations or alerts. The AURA Orchestrator can operate autonomously or in an augmented approach, where decision authority and the level of automation remain firmly in human hands.

AURA Communicator: Context-Based Interaction Between People and Systems

The AURA Communicator enables contextual, dialog-based communication between people and systems using natural, unrestricted language. Users receive situation-specific information and guidance without having to navigate through individual applications or user interfaces. This includes, for example, queries about process and system status, stored work and packing instructions, maintenance or repair guidance, as well as updates on current order progress. The AURA Communicator supports daily operational work without requiring deep expertise in individual systems. This interaction is further enhanced by autonomous integration mechanisms. Through the Autonomous Integration function, existing systems can be connected and linked easily—without custom programming.

EPG AURA will be presented for the first time at LogiMAT 2026 at the EPG booth 4A71 in Hall 4.
