The event is organized jointly by the edacentrum, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the GI/GMM/ITG RSS Steering Group for “Computer-aided Circuit and System Design”. Like in 2009 and 2011 the edaWorkshop is organized in co-operation with the annually CATRENE Design Technology Conference (DTC).
The event features 11 sessions with a number of different topics and more than 30 presentations including following 6 keynotes: “The Industrial Deployment of the Silicon Photonics Technology” by Maurizio Zuffada (ST Microelectronics), “Virtual Fabrication for Advanced CMOS” by Gerold Schröpfer (Coventor), “Design Challenges for Advanced CMOS” by Hans-Jürgen Brand (Globalfoundries), “Quality and Innovation – Drivers for Modern Automotive Electronics” by Ulrich Abelein (AUDI), “Building Supercomputers from Mobile Processors” by Alex Ramirez (University of Barcelona) and “Electromagnetic Simulation for Electronic Systems” by Raúl Camposano (Nimbic).
Among the participants of the concluding panel discussion of the first day on „Closing the Gap Between Technology and Application Needs “ are Thomas Hötzel (ELMOS), Wolfgang Nebel (OFFIS) Martin Barnasconi (NXP).
The three days event is a balanced combination of information and communication. It not only offers a wide range of discussions on specialized subjects and EDA research projects, but also provides several networking opportunities. This is supported by a comprehensive poster exhibition, where demonstrations and prototypes will also be presented.
Scientists and representatives from industry particularly with regard to the sector of microelectronics are kindly invited to register until May 6, 2013 at the latest. The event creates ideal opportunities for a professional exchange of ideas on a scientific basis. Registration form and further information can be found on: www.edacentrum.de/edaworkshop
