Rainer Hundsdörfer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ebm-papst Group: "With this investment in science and education we are hoping to strengthen the position of the university and in particular to promote the 'Technology Agenda‘ in Künzelsau. Research into electromagnetism is of great significance not just to ourselves but also to many other companies in the area aiming to make products, such as fan drives and motors, ever more efficient."
Right from the start ebm-papst has provided the university with both financial and conceptual support.
Gerhard Sturm, honorary senator and founder of ebm-papst, was a member of the university advisory board for many years. Three energy management and economics professorships are funded by the fan specialists. For the past year ebm-papst has also been supporting the "Tick" project aimed at promoting the technical interest of children and young people from an early age.
More details on the founding of the institute will follow over the next few weeks.
