- Panel discussion on RFID at the "EuroCIS Forum" February 20th, 11.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m.

Enso Detego GmbH, one of the leading specialists in Europe for RFID solutions, has announced new possibilities for the use of RFID in fashion retail ahead of the EuroCIS technology trade fair (February 19th-21st in Duesseldorf, Germany).

'With these innovations, we have made RFID even more profitable. The technology for the contactless identification and tracking of individual items will continue to rationalize the entire flow of goods from production to the point of sale. New software tools offer fashion retailers new possibilities when it comes to carrying out evaluations and analyses,' explains Tom Vieweger, key account manager at Enso Detego.

Inventory intelligence is the watchword of the company at this year's EuroCIS, where Enso Detego will present a software solution featuring a range of analysis functions, which allow an efficient inventory management at the individual item level. 'This is a crucial step towards greater inventory transparency, helping to avoid out-of-stock situations,' says Vieweger.

Live demonstration: RFID in the retail supply chain

Enso Detego caters for both, brand owned fashion retail stores as well as franchisee owned mono stores, with the RFID software solutions detego® Basic Store and detego® Multi Store. An additional application, detego® Store Guard, is used for electronic article surveillance (EAS) in outlets where items have an RFID tag.

Together with höltl Retail Solutions, a provider of IT solutions for retail, Enso Detego will present a spectacular live demonstration at EuroCIS to show how RFID can be used at every stage of the retail supply chain, covering aspects such as printing RFID tags, incoming goods, recording the movement of items from the (store) warehouse to the sales floor, stocktaking, checkout processes and EAS.

EuroCIS Forum: The outlook of RFID

The current situation and the outlook of RFID are part of the EuroCIS framework programme. Lessons learned and the future potential of this technology will form the core of a discussion event to be held on February, 20 at 11.00 a.m. in the EuroCIS Forum. The speakers include Tom Vieweger, who will provide expert knowledge from Enso Detego. Looking ahead, he says, 'There are still many more possibilities that RFID can offer. In the medium term, this technology is expected to support retailers in marketing and sales promotion activities.'
