ContiTech Presents Robust Air Springs with Innovative Lightweight Design

Robust air spring solutions provide safety and long service life / Lightweight construction sets new standards for energy efficiency / ContiTech offers original equipment quality in the replacement market

(PresseBox) (Hannover, )
Air springs from ContiTech Air Spring Systems have been used in commercial vehicles for decades, and the trucks, trailers, and buses of many reputable manufacturers are fitted with them as standard. At ComTrans in Moscow from September 10 - 14, 2013, the international air springs specialist is now celebrating its premiere in Russia: In Hall 14, Pavilion 3, Stand B170, the company will be presenting its durable and robust top products to the country's emerging commercial vehicles market for the first time - and sets new standards for the international air spring market with the trend to lightweight construction.

Ready for the Russian market

ContiTech air springs fully meet the requirements for commercial vehicle components presented by the particular climate and infrastructure in Russia. The robust materials guarantee high durability and functionality as well as uncomplicated handling. Temperatures in the range of -40°C to +70°C have no effect on the functionality of the components. ContiTech develops all components for the Russian market mainly in Germany and manufactures them at its production plant in Bursa, Turkey. "Factors like this ensure high process stability and fast delivery times, in line with the requirements of the commercial vehicle manufacturers," emphasizes Sergey Tretiakov, head of the branch office in Moscow. "The very good sales organization in Russia also makes a major contribution."

Greater efficiency through lightweight design

Robustness and lightness - these are seemingly contradictory properties that are both exemplified in the air springs of ContiTech Air Spring Systems. The innovative lightweight technology that ContiTech is presenting at ComTrans drastically reduces the weight of air spring systems and favorably impacts on corrosion-resistance. This is made possible by alternatively using plastic instead of steel and aluminum to make the adapter parts. "This brings advantages in terms of service, but also in terms of payload," explains Diethelm Bauch, head of the Commercial Vehicle Original Equipment segment at ContiTech Air Spring Systems. "The low weight saves fuel or increases the payload, which OEM partners in the truck segment benefit from in particular."

Top quality also in the replacement market

With their unparalleled performance characteristics, ContiTech air spring systems also offer many advantages to vehicle manufacturers in the trailer and bus sectors. These are also available to customers in the replacement market, as ContiTech offers original air springs on the free market for replacement parts that are developed for original equipment and produced in exactly the same way. To provide an optimum price-performance ratio in every market segment, in addition to references for the premium brand ContiTech, we also offer Phoenix brand air springs, which are specifically tailored to the replacement market. At the lower end, the selection is rounded off with our budget PRIME-RIDE® brand - a limited product range in terms of models, which is primarily aimed at operators of older vehicles.

Service awareness and riding comfort

Another exhibition highlight from ContiTech Air Spring Systems comes in the form of air suspension systems for driver seats. With these product solutions, ContiTech is demonstrating that its competence also makes possible an ergonomic and comfortable workstation for the driver, reducing fatigue and health risks among vehicle operators. A newly developed Web app for the air spring replacement business offers end users as well as garages and manufacturers a clear advantage. This service makes it possible to find the right ContiTech air spring for an application via smartphone - anytime, anywhere.
