Hier finden Sie eine längere Video-Dokumentation zur gemeinsamen Entwicklungsarbeit von Continental mit dem Fraunhofer Institut für Molekularbiologie und angewandte Oekologie (IME), dem Julius Kühn-Institut und dem Pflanzenzüchter Eskusa beim Projekt "Taraxagum". Die Projektpartner stehen mit diesem Entwicklungsprojekt für industrialisierbaren Kautschuk aus Löwenzahnwurzeln für die Reifenproduktion vor dem Durchbruch. 

Die Dokumentation zeigt eindrucksvoll die zahlreichen Facetten auf, für die Lösungen gefunden werden müssen, um in fünf bis zehn Jahren die Serienproduktion für Reifen zu erreichen zu. Der WinterContact TS 850 P wurde bereits als Kleinserie mit einem Laufstreifen aus reinem Löwenzahn-Kautschuk hergestellt, um die Leistungseigenschaften mit Serienprodukten zu vergleichen, bei denen der verwendete Naturkautschuk ausschliesslich aus Naturkautschuk vom Gummibaum stammt. Ergebnis: Die Leistungseigenschaften sind nahezu identisch!
