Saudi-Arabien: Peitschenhiebe für Rockmusiker

Saudi-Arabien macht seinem Ruf, ein gestrenges Land zu sein und westlichen Normen und Gewohnheiten strikt abzusagen, einmal mehr alle Ehre.
Wie kürzlich bekannt wurde, soll ein Rockmusiker aus Saudi-Arabien ausgepeitscht werden. Der 22-Jährige Sänger hatte seine Musik über das Internet kundgetan und fand bei den Jugendlichen des islamischen Herrschaftsgebietes Anklang. Die Songs der Rockband mit dem Namen „Clash“ thematisieren das Thema Frau und weitere Motive, die Saudi-Arabien als Tabuthemen deklariert hat. Dafür soll der Sänger nun mit 350 Peitschenhieben bestraft werden.
Auftritte von Rockbands oder die Verbreitung von Rockmusik ist in Saudi-Arabien untersagt.
