CFRP: The material of the future has already become indispensable in many branches of industry. Because of its unique properties – high strength and stiffness at a low density and low weight , CFRP is increasingly being used in aircraft, automobile and wind power plant construction as well as in the ship building industry.

The Convention this year focuses on the leading topic of “CFRP Automation – Simulation, Processes & Materials”. International experts will present their latest developments in the technologies, processes and construction methods of composite lightweight construction in research and practice. Seventeen international top speakers will be giving their lectures at the two-day conference.

Program extract for June 7:

“Galvanic metallisation of CFRP devices”
Speaker: Dr. Andreas Dietz, Fraunhofer-Institute for Surface Engineering and Thin Films IST (Brunswick)

“HexMC®: a carbon compound suitable for highly loaded complex structures made in large volume”
Speaker: Sylvain Delalande, HEXCEL Composites (Dagneux, France)

“Process simulations for composites forming of UD tape laminates”
Speaker: Prof. Remko Akkerman, University of Twente & TPRC (Enschede, The Netherlands)

Program extract for June 8:

“ASPIRATE, a new green process to machine CFRP safely, cleanly and efficiently”
Speaker: Joseba Perez Bilbatua, IDEKO-IK4 (Elgoibar, Spain)

“Automated impregnation of thick preforms for cost-effective manufacturing of fibre reinforced plastics”
