censhare 4.0 offers new structure, enhanced usability and increased performance

New concept for publishing, communication and collaboration

(PresseBox) (München, )
censhare has redesigned its all-in-one information and publication system and is now unveiling censhare 4.0 – an entirely new concept for providing publishing solutions in media companies, retail and marketing communication. Based on the formula "publishing = communication and collaboration", the Munich software manufacturer has reworked the structure of its platform by means of a major slim-down: instead of seven modules there are now just three: censhare Media Asset Management, the censhare Publishing System and censhare Localization System. New and improved functions ensure improved usability, increased performance and greater flexibility in adapting tools to individual requirements.

censhare Media Asset Management forms the basis of every application and is included in all censhare solutions as a basic component. It centralizes content,
automates processes and provides users with maximum freedom to implement new business models, media and products due to genuine single- source publishing. Collaboration with customers and partners can be raised to an entirely new level by means of optional professional collaboration tools such as deadline and client management.

Media Asset Management is combined with the censhare Publishing System and/or censhare Localization System. The Publishing System provides an integrated workflow in the production of content and the creation and development of publications of all kinds - print media, websites, mobile content, apps and even content for social media channels such as blogs, Facebook and Twitter. The censhare Localization and Variation System can be used to localize media and communication materials in different languages and create versions for regional sales areas or individual target groups. With its central administration and automation of all localization processes and workflows it ensures transparency and efficiency and reduces errors and redundancy.

censhare Media Asset Management, censhare Publishing System and censhare Localization System can be extended to create an individual solution for any publishing project with the addition of a wide range of other tools and options.

Adaptation to individual methods and environments

censhare 4.0 offers a completely revised user interface which is significantly more intuitive and can be individually adapted to the look and feel of the interfaces of modern operating systems. The interface is based on a docking framework with a wide range of possible docks, e.g. for asset request, preview and search or the "New actions" dock which offers diverse editing options for the selected asset. Docks can be arranged alongside each other or as tabs, according to preference.

Since asset types are managed hierarchically in censhare 4 and are not limited to asset type and sub-type, even individual files, formats and templates can be created as assets, e.g. advertisement > print > A4 > 4c. Thanks to the new linking system, article planners and layouters can manage texts, images, visuals, authors etc. as they wish based on hierarchies or similarities, flexibly adding link types and adapting these to their working method. Planning and placement of articles, texts, visuals and layouts in media is carried out through output channels that can be selected for each asset. The output channels available are subject to individual configuration and adaptation.

When editing metadata or creating multiple assets, there is a new editing window which enables the selection to be further refined based on assets or asset types. This means that all changes for the entire selection or for any subset can be applied in a single operation, or else several metadata windows can be opened and edited simultaneously.
censhare Search provides new, extended search functions enabling users to formulate random search queries with "and", "or" and "not". The new version is rounded off with other technical extensions such as the addition of an embedded database in the censhare 4.0 application server and new XPath and XSLT functions as an alternative to formulas.
