US Patent granted for the Production of Nanocapsules

Capsulution extends its worldwide patent protection

(PresseBox) (Berlin, )
With the granting of a further US patent, Capsulution has successfully extended its worldwide patent protection. The recently granted patent number US 7,101,575 is a basis patent for the production of nanocapsules according to the so-called LBL Technology®.

The LBL Technology® (Layer-by-Layer) is the source for a host of products and solutions within the life-science industry. Accordingly, the experts from Capsulution can endow the nanocapsules with special pharmaceutical, biochemical, electric, optical or magnetic properties and thus render them indispensable aids in many areas of life and science.

"The newly granted patent ensures our competitive advantage as one of the leading developers of nano and microcapsules in the field of modern life-science applications. We can pass this safeguard on to our customers who appreciate an outstanding and qualitatively high development performance from us," says Alexander Herrmann, CFO of Capsulution.

As well as nanocapsules, Capsulution also employs with numerous applications nanocomplexes which further extend the application possibilities due to their special release properties.

Capsulution owns the exclusive rights for the further development and worldwide marketing of the LBL Technology® which was originally developed by the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science.

Today, Capsulution especially focuses on applications in the field of drug delivery, medical devices and diagnostics, where tailor-made products are developed for industrial customers.

Capsulution Pharma AG

Capsulution NanoScience AG is a leading nanotechnology company focusing on the development of tailor-made drug delivery systems and other innovative life science products based on tunable nano-sized capsules. The company applies its worldwide-patented so-called LBL-Technology®. Based on their minute size, their functionality and their highly reproducible production process the tunable capsules can be used for a multitude of different applications. Accordingly, the precisely sized capsules can be made to function in a manner to suit the intended application, and can be given the appropriate biochemical, electrical, optical and magnetic properties as required by the customer. In order to meet customers needs for complete product solutions Capsulution has recently designated EBARA Corp. as the preferred developer, manufacturer and distributor for automated LBL-units. Only six month after the signing of the licence agreement, EBARA has started operation of the first prototype plant (LBL-Unit®) for the manufacture of Capsulution's LBL capsules.
