In the morning's race Curnow led Breen from start to finish to secure victory after the pair had passed front row starters, Oliver Turvey (Team Loctite) and Euan Hankey (Fortec Motorsport) who both made mistakes coming out of Riches on lap two. In the afternoon, Breen went one step higher by making a great move to pass Turvey at the end of the Revett Straight to take the lead with four laps to go.
"It was a good result today, I had the championship in mind but was always going to go for the win", Breen said. Second placed Turvey was disappointed not to have converted either of two pole position into a win: "I made a great start but just didn't have the speed down the back straight towards the end of race two to hold Breen off".
Curnow was pleased with his day's work, helping to secure his second spot in the championship ahead of Hankey as well as coming away with the Formula BMW UK Snetterton lap record, clocking a time of 1:10.086 in race two.
The biggest smile of the day however was across the face of 18-year-old Arundel who produced two great drives including a mature performance to finish not only top Rookie, but third overall in race one, the highest finish for a Rookie this year.
"It's been a great weekend, I felt I was as quick as the front runners at the start of race one but just settled into my own race as I was not being pushed from behind and didn't want to risk my podium finish. I managed to stay out of trouble in race two and after Niall Quinn (Carlin Motorsport) made a mistake, was able to claim the double!"
Arundel now leads the Rookie Cup with four races to go, but with only twelve points covering the top three, Quinn or Kimiya Sato (Rowan Motor Racing Ltd) are still in with a chance as the end draws ever closer.
