With the ZPA solution using AS-Interface, autonomous zero-pressure accumulation conveying can be implemented for a wide variety of conveyed goods - without a higher-level controller and independent of the drive and fieldbus solutions used in the system.
Different drive technology requirements can be perfectly solved by combining ASi-5 and ASi-3 in the applications. Uncomplicated functions such as start/stop, left/right operation or open/close can be implemented most easily and economically with ASi-3 modules. ASi-5 is ideal for complex applications.
With ASi-5 Safety, many safe and standard signals can be used under a single address - and complex safety applications can be solved more easily. ASi-5 Safety reduces machine costs, is compatible with all previous ASi devices, offers a higher data bandwidth and extended diagnostic options. Bihl+Wiedemann has modern ASi-5 Safety Gateways and input modules, each with 2 safe inputs and up to 12 standard signals.
Unique requirements for automated guided vehicles (AGV) can be implemented quickly and easily with the wide range of standard and safety technologies. The customized safety solution from the company based in Mannheim always enables AGVs to communicate safely with each other, but also with a central unit. This makes it child's play, for example, to switch off all AGVs centrally from a safe emergency stop signal - simply via LAN, WLAN, 5G and much more.
