„Das Alleinstellungsmerkmal des Deutschen Pavillons ist, dass der Besucher quasi hineingesogen wird. Dieser Eingang ist sicher eines der Bilder, die sich in Astana einprägen werden.“ Dies betont der Expo-Kenner Dr. Thomas Schriefers, der in Astana Gruppen auf der Weltausstellung fachkundig begleitet hat, so auch eine Delegation, die der AUMA – Verband der Deutschen Messewirtschaft für Vertreter von Messeveranstaltern, von Verbänden, für Designer, Architekten sowie für einzelne Vertreter von Bundes- und Landesministerien vom 10. bis 13. Juli 2017 organisiert hat.
Wir haben den Kölner Architekten Dr. Thomas Schriefers über seine Eindrücke in Astana gefragt. In unserem Interview berichtet er nicht nur über den Deutschen Pavillon, sondern beschreibt aus der Perspektive des Architekturhistorikers, was die Weltausstellung in Astana für Kasachstan bedeutet und wie sich die Erwartung der Region Zentralasien in der Anlage der Weltausstellung wiederspiegelt. Wir haben ihn außerdem gefragt, wie andere Nationen das Motto „Future Energy“ umsetzen. In seinen Antworten erläutert Dr. Schriefers auch die Pavillons von Großbritannien, der Schweiz und Österreich.
