Arvato Systems Smart Metering Services: Highly Flexible and Scalable in the Cloud

Modernized software technology in the smart metering sector

(PresseBox) (Gütersloh, Germany, )
  • Certain services for smart metering systems now also available as Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) in Arvato Systems' modern managed cloud IT service portfolio "Avvia"
  • Arvato Systems continues to actively promote the rollout of intelligent measurement systems
The software solutions from Arvato Systems in the area of intelligent metering systems are offered as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) with strong partners and have now been significantly improved in terms of performance. The services from the "External Market Participants / Metering Point Operation" area are also available as Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) in the Arvato Systems Managed Cloud IT service portfolio "Avvia". The IT service provider is thus continuing to focus on innovation and quality in the energy market. With a future-proof system and a focus on flexibility and reliability, the company is underlining its role as a reliable partner for smart metering systems.

The fact that certain services of the Arvato Systems software solutions in the field of smart metering are now also available in the "Avvia" Cloud IT portfolio as Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) makes them even more flexible for customers. The expansion means that the solutions can be offered in a wide range of scenarios from "On Premises" to "FaaS" in order to meet individual customer requirements. The Function-as-a-Service variant offers particularly good scalability as well as simple maintenance and updating options.

Stability, speed and up-to-dateness

To further enhance the stability of its Gateway Administrator (GWA) system, Arvato Systems has also implemented comprehensive updates. The processing routine for processes has also been redeveloped to enable simultaneous processing, resulting in increased processing speed. Arvato Systems' customers are therefore ideally equipped to meet the requirements of the law to restart the digitalization of the energy transition, which requires, among other things, the processing of high-frequency grid status data and millions of data of measured energy quantities (so-called TAF7 load profiles). By continuously modernizing its systems, the company not only ensures that it meets the increasing demands of the market with high-quality solutions, but also enables tangible improvements as part of the digital transformation of its customers.

The implementation of current regulatory requirements is an integral part of the ongoing development process. The Arvato Systems solution for metering point operation offers the following service modules to implement the amendment to the Energy Industry Act (Energiewirtschaftsgesetz) 14a, which was passed as part of the law to restart the digitalization of the energy transition (Gesetz zum Neustart der Digitalisierung der Energiewende):
  • Processing of (high-frequency) grid status data for all market roles as a passive external market participant (pEMT). This service is also available as "FaaS".
  • Connection to the control box administration solutions of our partners aEMT GmbH and VIVAVIS via a CLS connector within the SaaS solution.
Commitment to the smart metering business area

Through the continuous and innovative further development of software solutions in the field of smart metering, Arvato Systems is thus underlining its position as a strong and reliable partner in the energy market that is actively driving forward the rollout of intelligent metering systems. The company will also be providing information on this topic at its stand in Hall 3C115 at E-world energy & water in Essen from February 20 to 22, 2024.
