Arvato Systems is selected by CBC/Radio-Canada as Strategic Partner for Broadcast Management Modernization

Arvato Systems continues to expand its leading market position for BMS systems in Canada

(PresseBox) (Gütersloh / Toronto, )
  • CBC/Radio-Canada aims to enhance their multi-platform exploitation of audiovisual programming and monetization
  • The entire broadcast management systems (BMS) portfolio of Vidispine – An Arvato Systems Brand will be deployed
Arvato Systems, a leading global IT solutions provider, is pleased to announce that it has been selected as the strategic partner by the national broadcasting corporation CBC/Radio-Canada for the modernization of its complete broadcast management system landscape. The project aims to enhance CBC/Radio-Canada's multi-platform exploitation of audiovisual programming and empower CBC/Radio-Canada to stay ahead of the rapidly changing media industry.

CBC/Radio-Canada issued an open request for proposal (RfP) to replace its existing Broadcast Management System. The RfP aimed to manage the linear and non-linear distribution of CBC/Radio-Canada’s audiovisual content. The tender called for an innovative and future-proof solution that would address the organization's current pain points and enable efficient and effective management of its programming and commercial inventory across all distribution platforms.

Arvato Systems stood out among the global vendors in the competitive evaluation process. The process included the response to over 800 functional and technical requirements, followed by detailed system demos and direct access to a dedicated test environment for further evaluation. After careful consideration, Arvato Systems' Vidispine Broadcast Management Platform emerged as the clear winner for both lots of this RfP:

- License Rights Management & Program Scheduling
- Advertising Sales Campaign Management & Traffic

The implementation of all Vidispine components will be conducted in an agile manner, seamlessly integrated into CBC/Radio-Canada’s ecosystem. The project team will use a phased agile approach to enable a smooth transition from the current legacy system into the next generation solution suite.

The proven record of success and market-leading position of Arvato Systems in Canada, along with its strong presence in the region, further solidified CBC/Radio-Canada's confidence in selecting this company as their preferred vendor.

Arvato Systems’ Vidispine team is excited about the opportunity to work with CBC/Radio-Canada on this significant project. “We are delighted to welcome CBC/Radio-Canada to our North American customer family” states Christian Schneider, Principal Strategic Market- and Account Development within the Vidispine team at Arvato Systems. “We take great pride in being chosen as CBC/Radio-Canada's long-term partner. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for both organizations. Our project teams are already at full speed to successfully deliver the objectives of this exciting project. Working closely with our customers is one of the key success factors in delivering a portfolio that provides powerful, adaptable, state-of-the-art technology and solutions that enable our customers to succeed in a constantly evolving media industry.”
