Arvato Systems develops its own TI messenger for the German healthcare sector

Cooperation between Arvato Systems and Awesome Technologies

(PresseBox) (Gütersloh, )
Together with the Würzburg-based company Awesome Technologies, Arvato Systems is working on a TI messenger for the German healthcare industry in the telematics infrastructure (TI) context. The messenger service "tim+" will both meet gematik requirements and have features that facilitate case-based communication between service providers.

tim+ is an instant messaging service that meets the healthcare sector's high security and data protection requirements. In principle, the introduction of such TI messengers is planned by gematik in several expansion stages: In the first stage, cross-sector ad hoc communication between doctors, psychotherapists, and employees in pharmacies and other medical facilities will be made possible. Later, the messaging service will also be made available to patients, for example, to enable direct contact with family doctors' practices or health insurers.

For this purpose, the tim+ messaging service from Arvato Systems will offer the exchange of text messages, images, documents, or voice messages. It will be possible to use the service in various ways: via a web client, as a mobile app on a smartphone or tablet, or fully integrated into primary systems. In addition, tim+ should also be able to be used on private end devices without security concerns. This is made possible by end-to-end encryption and the use of the HL7 FHIR standard, which can ensure data protection, interoperability, and data exchange between different systems. In addition, tim+ will offer a tiered authorization concept that facilitates communication within and between workgroups.

In summary, the goal of the new solution is to support care processes and treatment workflows. Through the targeted integration of AI and chatbot functions in tim+, both the structured analysis of data and the further improvement of communication options can contribute to this in the future.

"In Awesome Technologies, we have found a strong partner that has already celebrated many successes in the field of messaging and telemedicine," said Kai Ketzer, Senior Manager eHealth at Arvato Systems. "Together, we want to ensure that tim+, as the first application of TI 2.0, takes healthcare industry communication to a new level."

Dr. Christoph Günther, CEO of Awesome Technologies, added: "In several projects and with our existing products, we have shown that modern communication technology can enormously reduce the organizational effort for patients and caring nursing staff. Together with Arvato Systems and its TI expertise, we can now achieve the important goal of connecting all stakeholders in healthcare in the best possible way."

We will show more about tim+, the application scenarios, and the combination with artificial intelligence and chatbots at DMEA from April 25 to 27, 2023, at booth E-106 in hall 2.2. In addition, visitors will get an insight into how tim+ can be integrated into the primary system with just one click in the congress session "Digitalization in medical practices and MVZs. The key to better care?" visitors will get an insight into how tim+ can be integrated into the primary system with just one click.
