Die DNS GmbH, Value Added Distributor aus Fürstenfeldbruck, veranstaltet am 11. September einen Workshop zum effizienten Management von IBM-Infrastrukturen und -BladeCentern-. IBM-Rack-Lösungen bieten eine Reihe von Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten, die es in jedem Einzelfall optimal zu nutzen gilt. Um diese Möglichkeiten aufzuzeigen, hat sich DNS für die Veranstaltung Verstärkung von Avocent und IBM an Bord geholt. Die Veranstaltung richtet sich vor allem an die Techniker der DNS-Fachhandelspartner. Die Teilnahme ist kostenlos.
„Die Rack-Lösungen von IBM bieten so viele Möglichkeiten für Aufbau und Management einer Infrastruktur, dass auch die Fehlermöglichkeiten sehr zahlreich sind“, erläutert Rainer Korda, Technical Consultant IBM von DNS. „Zwar haben sich die IBM-Lösungen bestens im Markt etabliert. Trotzdem gibt es sehr viele Systeme die sub-optimal konfiguriert sind. Mit diesem Workshop wollen wir dringend erforderliche Aufklärungsarbeit leisten und die Teilnehmer in die Lage versetzen, die IBM-Systeme ihrer Kunden bestmöglich zu konfigurieren.“
Der Workshop beinhaltet Vorträge, Diskussionsmöglichkeiten und Live-Demos. Neben dem eigentlichen Management einer IBM-Infrastruktur behandeln die Workshop-Leiter Themen wie korrekte Verkabelung, Auswahl und Konfiguration geeigneter Switches, sichere und effiziente Stromversorgung sowie eine angemessene Kühlung der Systeme. Desweiteren werden die neuesten Information en zu Neuerungen im Bereich IBM BladeCenter von Werner Orgas, IBM Deutschland, vorgestellt.
