Le Palmer Monicon est une solution pratique et confortable pour régler le niveau d'écoute en studio professionnel comme dans des applications grand public. Il s'intercale entre le PC, le portable, la tablette ou le lecteur MP3 et les moniteurs actifs - ou enceintes domestiques, et son ample potentiomètre est aisé à prendre en main et assure un réglage facile et précis du niveau d'écoute.

Le Monicon est proposé aujourd'hui en édition limitée : son boîtier acier et ses panneaux latéraux en bois sont peints en blanc. L'entrée du signal stéréo s'effectue sur des connecteurs Combo et mini-jack stéréo 3,5 mm ; les sorties utilisent des XLR et un autre mini-jack 3,5 mm, ce qui permet de travailler en symétrique ou en asymétrique.

Les circuits du Palmer Monicon sont entièrement passifs ; ils ne détériorent en rien la qualité du signal. Sa bande passante s'étend de 10 Hz à 40 kHz, et le taux de distorsion est extrêmement réduit : 0,001%. Deux touches permettent de couper le signal (Mute) et de sommer le signal de sortie en mono.
