ABUS Security-Center provides WLAN network cameras for outdoor areas

(PresseBox) (Affing, )
MÜHLHAUSEN — 3 May 2011 — ABUS Security-Center is presenting a new WLAN network camera for outdoor surveillance. This new VGA IP camera has been specially developed for private use, e.g. video surveillance of entrances. It provides colour recordings with 640 x 480 pixels in real-time. Video data is transmitted wirelessly via WLAN. A covered power cable provides optimum protection against manipulation. To simplify integration in existing surveillance systems, the camera supports the manufacturer-independent ONVIF standard.

Thanks to its IP54 protection class, the new outdoor camera can also be used in uncovered outdoor areas without requiring additional weatherproof housing. Rain, snow and direct sunlight are no problem. With an angle of vision of 53.1° the camera can cover the entire entrance area when positioned correctly. Legally sensitive zones can be hidden using private zone masking.

Another equipment feature is the quadstream function. It facilitates parallel transmission of videos with differing frame rates and thereby provides great versatility when configuring the system. For example, the user has the option of recording video images in high quality with H.264 compression and watching the pictures live via a smartphone.

Optimum vision day and night
In order to make sure the camera doesn’t miss anything – even in the dark – the day/night camera has an electromechanical, swivelling infrared cut filter. The twelve integrated IR LEDs switch on automatically at below 0.8 Lux. Other image correction functions such as BLC, AGC or AWB also help to compensate for changing light conditions and provide perfect recordings.

Video management software included
Like all ABUS network cameras, VMS Express video management software is also included with this model. The software helps while installing and configuring the camera. It can be used to set resolution, quality and frame rate. The motion detection can be used to trigger a range of responses such as recording start, alerts or e-mail dispatch.
