ZARM, University of Bremen
ZARM is an institute of the University of Bremen. The research of more than 100 ZARM scientists covers experimental, theoretical and computational approaches to fundamental scientific questions, as well as the development of technology for space missions and experiments in weightlessness.
The main laboratory of ZARM is the Bremen Drop Tower. It offers the opportunity for short-term experiments under microgravity conditions. Due to the very successful operation by the ZARM Drop Tower Operation and Service Company (ZARM Fallturm-Betriebsgesellschaft mbH) the demand for drop tower experiments has continuously increased. This is why ZARM additionally developed a new microgravity lab, the GraviTower Bremen Pro.
ZARM is strongly committed to support young scientists and students at all levels and offers several outreach programs. We especially aim at increasing the percentage of girls interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) since women are still underrepresented in these fields.
