Seit 1881 wird bei Pfleiderer in Teisnach Papier hergestellt.  Pfleiderer liefert jährlich 40.000 to Spezialpapier in über 100 Produktvarianten an Kunden auf allen Kontinenten. Das Unternehmen beschäftigt 230 Mitarbeiter und produziert auf 3 Papiermaschinen.

Pfleiderer Spezialpapiere mit innovativen Barierebeschichtungen sind im Bereich Lebensmittelverpackung und in technischen und dekorativen Anwendungsbereichen im Einsatz. Seine hohe Flexibilität und die Möglichkeit auch kleinere Mengen kundenspezifisch zu gestalten prädestinieren das Unternehmen als Entwicklungspartner für neue Produktlösungen.

Pfleiderer ist heute nicht nur Papierhersteller, sondern in hohem Ausmaß auch Papierrecycler. Dadurch und mit dem Einsatz von alternativen Faserstoffen für die Papierproduktion leistet das Unternehmen einen wertvollen Beitrag zur Kreislaufwirtschaft in der Papierindustrie und zur Entwicklung umweltfreundlicher Verpackungslösungen auf Basis nachwachsender Rohstoffe, als Ersatz für Kunststoffprodukte.
