Das gemeinnützige Deutsche Institut für Zell- und Gewebeersatz (DIZG) ist ein Arzneimittelhersteller mit Sitz in Berlin und zählt zu den größten pharmazeutisch und biotechnologisch orientierten Non-Profit-Einrichtungen dieser Art in Europa. Durch wegweisende Forschung in der Zell- und Gewebekonservierung entwickelt das DIZG innovative Lösungen für den medizinischen humanen Zell- und Gewebeersatz. Mit den autologen Zellkulturen bietet das DIZG als einzige Einrichtung deutschlandweit Verbrennungszentren eine lebensrettende Therapieoption für Schwerbrandverletzte. 

Das Ziel ist es, möglichst vielen Menschen mit schwersten Gewebedefekten eine verbesserte Heilungsperspektive zu bieten. Aus diesem Grund fördert das Institut die Gewebespende und entwickelt die Vielfalt der Transplantate mit einer eigenen F&E-Abteilung stetig weiter.

Seit seiner Gründung im Jahr 1993 hat das DIZG mehr als 868.000 allogene Gewebetransplantate für medizinische Behandlungen abgegeben. Das DIZG ist eine Schwestereinrichtung der US-amerikanischen MTF Biologics, der weltweit größten Non-Profit-Gewebebank. Mehr Informationen unter www.dizg.de.
