ANTONICS GmbH

Antenna System Technology for Rail

The Antonics GmbH is a leading German developer and producer of innovative antenna system technology. As a technology leader for multiband train antennas the company produces powerful antenna solutions for buses and rail vehicles in their Velten headquarters by Berlin. The Antonics planar train antenna technology allows different communication systems to be used in one single, very flat antenna such as 5G, LTE, UMTS, GSM, TETRA, Wi-Fi or GNSS. Antonics antennas are used in the trains of Deutsche Bahn and in buses and trains of numerous German and international public transport companies.

Train & Bus Antennas Outdoor and Indoor

The Antonics OmPlecs train antennas generation combines extremely low profile antenna installation height with the highest technological demands on the antenna performance characteristics.

The train antennas, certified according to EN50155, with their extremely flat design of 40mm / 60mm height allow the mutual use of different communication systems such as 2m-Band, 70cm-Band/trunked radio/TETRA/UIC, GSM-R, GSM 1800, UMTS, LTE, 2×2 LTE MIMO, 4×4 LTE MIMO, 4×4 5G MIMO, Wi-Fi 2.4, Wi-Fi 5.8 and GPS / GLONASS in a single antenna.

Due to the selective coupling of the respective frequency range with the high quality connectors of the series N and TNC, there is no costly splitter needed. Through the selective coupling, the efficiency of the individual bands is significantly improved compared to conventional multiband broadband concepts.

Cables

Antonics delivers a broad range of cable assemblies that can be used with the Antonics antenna range. The following are the most commonly used cable types, cable assemblies and connectors:

Railway Application

Our latest product is the OmProCab-5. It’s a quad shielded low loss coaxial cable with flexible inner conductor and cable certification / approval according to train standard EN 45545-2 for mounting in trains and vehicles. The special feature is the combination of very good RF properties, the flexible inner conductor and the fire certification according to railway standard, which makes it ideal for use with our railway antennas.

Bus Application

For use with Antonics bus antennas, the OmProCab-55 is most suitable. It’s a double shielded Low Loss coaxial cable with flexible inner conductor and cable certification / approval according to ECE R118 for mounting in vehicles. This cable convinces through very good RF properties and the flexible inner conductor.

Protection Devices

In order to ensure the operation of our antennas and thus the smooth running of the signal transmission, we have developed various protection devices. The GSM-R band stop filter ensures that a certain frequency range cannot be superimposed by other signals and is thus disturbed. Our DC blocker suppresses DC up to a voltage of 2kV and thus prevents possible damage to the connected devices.
