AfB gemeinnützige GmbH

AfB gGmbH ist Europas größtes gemeinnütziges IT-Unternehmen. Mit Aufarbeitung und Weitervermarktung ausgedienter IT-Hardware („Refurbishing & Remarketing“) schafft AfB Arbeitsplätze für Menschen mit Behinderung und trägt gleichzeitig dazu bei, Umweltressourcen einzusparen. An 20 Standorten in Deutschland, Österreich, Frankreich, der Schweiz und der Slowakei beschäftigt AfB 650 Mitarbeitende, davon 50 % mit Behinderung.

AfB übernimmt nicht mehr benötigte IT- und Mobilgeräte, löscht die darauf befindlichen Daten, rüstet sie auf, bespielt sie mit neuer Software und verkauft sie mit mindestens 12 Monaten Garantie. Im vergangenen Jahr hat AfB durch die Partnerschaften mit rund 1.000 Unternehmen, Banken, Versicherungen und öffentlichen Einrichtungen europaweit mehr als 528.000 gebrauchte IT-Geräte bearbeitet und 64 % davon wieder vermarktet. Dadurch wurden 22.800 Tonnen Rohstoffe in Eisenäquivalenten, 44.700 Tonnen CO2 und 170.800 MWh Energie eingespart.

Für dieses Green-IT-Konzept wurde AfB unter anderem mit dem German SDG Award 2022, dem Deutschen Nachhaltigkeitspreis 2021 und dem IT Business Distri Award 2023 Gold in der Kategorie "Refurbishing und Remarketing" ausgezeichnet.
