Ab 1. Februar 2005 senkt Xerox die Preise für den Solid-Ink-Drucker Phaser 8400. Je nach Ausführung des Farb-Gerätes liegt die Ersparnis für den Kunden bei bis zu 23 Prozent. Darüber hinaus erhält jeder Käufer eines Phaser Druckers (mit Ausnahme des Phaser 3150) als kleines Dankeschön eine Armbanduhr mit dem Logo «It's time for Solid Ink». Xerox reagiert damit auf die hohe Nachfrage nach dem Phaser 8400, der in 2004 eines der erfolgreichsten Produkte von Xerox Office war.
