Coko-Werk GmbH & Co.KG, Bad Salzuflen / Germany: Coko relying on WITTMANN BATTENFELD for more than five decades(PresseBox) (Kottingbrunn, )
Coko-Werk - successful in industrial plastic products all over Europe
Coko-Werk can look back on more than 80 years of corporate history, for more than 60 years of which its headquarters have been located in Bad Salzuflen / Germany.
Coko has seen highly successful corporate development ever since the company's foundation. Not only the German facility has been growing steadily. In the course of globalization, a shop-in-shop production site was established in Poland in 2000. In 2005, the first independent Polish production facility was built. A shop-in-shop production facility in Turkey followed in 2006. From 2011, Coko will start production in Turkey with a facility of its own on a 5,000 m² production floor. While the complete organization of sales and project management, including product development and mold making, will be handled at the German facility, the Polish and Turkish facilities will produce parts exclusively for their local markets.
Today, Coko is successful across the entire European market as a system supplier of industrial plastic parts made of thermoplastic materials. One major business segment is the production of plastic components for "white goods". Other market segments supplied by Coko are the automotive industry, the heating and sanitary installations industry, manufacturers of recreation and gardening products, office and organizational supplies, machine manufacturers, medical technology, consumer goods and electrical engineering. True to the motto of "everything from a single source", Coko-Werk is a strong partner right from the early stages of product development and design. Injection molding tools of up to 20 t in weight are built at the company's own mold making facility.
Plastic parts of up to 20 kg in weight are manufactured on the company's extensive range of injection molding machinery. The profile is rounded off by assembly facilities for highly complex parts as well as paint finish. Coko maintains a modern logistics system for making deliveries to its customers both in Germany and abroad. The company stands out above all by its proficiency, flexibility, fast response and decisiveness. Satisfied customers, continuous improvement and a holistic management system are the cornerstones of Coko's success. With a total workforce of more than 700 employees, Coko realizes more than 100 million Euros in sales annually.
Coko relies on WITTMANN BATTENFELD
Coko operates a total of more than 80 injection molding machines with clamping forces of up to 2,400 tons at its production facilities. Over half of these machines are from WITTMANN BATTENFELD.
At its main facility in Bad Salzuflen (Germany), the company concentrates mainly on larger machines. Virtually all injection molding processes in common use on the market are applied at Coko, such as one-, two- and multi-component injection molding, internal gas pressure and foaming processes, and much more. Blow molding technology to produce industrial hollow parts has also been in use for several years.
Due to the great variety of industries among its customers and consequently the enormous range of different products, Coco places high demands on the flexibility of its injection molding machines concerning both process technology and automation.
The injection molding machines must be able to accommodate all possible processes and product requirements.
WITTMANN BATTENFELD and Coko can already look back on more than 50 years of close partnership. Over the years, not only a number of individual machines, but also several complete production lines with peripheral automation equipment and inline assembly have been delivered, which are, for example, used in the production of window components (portholes) for washing machines. One such production line from WITTMANN BATTENFELD is in operation at the Bad Salzuflen facility in Germany, another in Poland.
What Coko appreciates about WITTMANN BATTENFELD, in addition to its high degree of flexibility, is above all its special closeness to customers, which manifests itself in the availability of customer support, excellent counseling competence on the part of its staff as well as the company's continuity.
With the order for eight injection molding machines, six for the Polish facility and two for the facility in Bad Salzuflen, Coko is significantly extending its capacity. The machines are an EcoPower 110 destined for Poland, where one EcoPower has already been installed, and hydraulic machines from the HM series with clamping forces ranging from 240 to 650 tons.
Injection molding machines from WITTMANN BATTENFELD
With the EcoPower, Coko will get an injection molding machine featuring the ultimate in efficiency, precision and cleanness. It stands out by its compact injection unit and clean clamping unit with a highly efficient direct drive. The radiation heat which is normally wasted and the deceleration energy from the drives, usually reclaimed by an elaborate process, are completely utilized within the machine, to provide the control system with the necessary voltage, and for barrel heating. This makes these machines extremely energy-efficient.
The machines from the HM series stand out above all by their modular diversity, ultimate precision and extensive range of options for virtually any application, and thus meet the requirements of Coko for enormous flexibility of its production equipment in every respect. The machines also have an extremely small footprint thanks to their very short 2-platen design. Further characteristics are low-noise operation and service-friendly structure. Additional features of the HM series are a generously dimensioned, clean mold space and low-maintenance linear guides.
