Die Hoffnung des deutschen Fußballs kommt aus Adlershof. Sie stammt ursprünglich aus Korea, heißt Bioloid, ist 37 Zentimeter groß und braucht für künftigen Star-Ruhm weder Haargel noch Goldkettchen, sondern etwas, das nicht unbedingt als Vorzeigeattribut der Kickergilde gilt: Intelligenz, genauer gesagt, künstliche Intelligenz (KI). Bioloid ist ein zweibeiniger Roboter - ein Humanoide, wie die Experten sagen. In fünf Monaten soll er vom staksigen Nobody zum WM-Star reifen. Die Wundertrainer, die das möglich machen wollen, sind Informatik-Professor Hans-Dieter Burkhard von der Humboldt-Universität nebst 20 Mitstreitern.
