Mit der neuen Oszillator-Serie DSC613 hat das US-Amerikanische Unternehmen Microchip eine MEMS-basierte Alternative vorgestellt, die bis zu 80 Prozent Platzersparnis bieten kann.

Der MEMS-basierte Oszillator DSC613 von Microchip unterstützt bis zu drei verschiedene Signalausgänge und kann damit bis zu drei Quarze und Oszillatoren auf einer Leiterplatte ersetzen. Ein externer Quarz wird bei Einsatz eines stromsparenden und hochstabilen MEMS-Resonator (Mikro-Elektromechanisches-System) nicht benötigt. Die Verringerung der Anzahl an Oszillatoren macht es möglich, Baugruppen weiter zu miniaturisieren und die Batterielebensdauer zu verlängern.

In einem sechspoligen DFN-Gehäuse mit der Bauform 1.6x1.2mm vereint der DSC613 einen MEMS-Resonator und zwei PLLs (Phase-Locked-Loops).
