Der Aufsichtsrat der Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft hat sein Präsidium um zwei auf acht Mitglieder erweitert. Dies teilte der Aufsichtsrat des Unternehmens am Freitag den 5. Juni 2020 mit. Grund dafür ist die zunehmende Aufgabenfülle. Zuletzt haben unter anderem das Gesetz zur Umsetzung der zweiten Aktionärsrechterichtlinie (ARUG II) und die Novelle des Deutschen Corporate Governance Kodex (DCGK) die Aufgaben des Gremiums erheblich erweitert. Dem Gremium gehören zukünftig auch Dr. Hans Michel Piëch auf der Anteilseignerseite sowie Bertina Murkovic auf der Arbeitnehmerseite an.
