Die VDI-Gesellschaft Technologies of Life Sciences veranstaltet am 10. Juni 2015 in Düsseldorf ein Expertenforum zum Vorgehen bei der Softwareentwicklung in der Medizintechnik. Das Thema wird anhand eines virtuellen Projekts praxisnah vorgestellt. Dafür wurde eine "Medikamentenpumpe mit Web- Schnittstelle" ausgewählt. Das Beispiel dient als Grundlage für alle acht Vorträge auf dem Expertenforum, die den gesamten Prozess der Softwareentwicklung behandeln.

Softwareentwicklung in der Medizintechnik findet in einem regulierten Markt statt. Für kleine und mittlere Unternehmen ist es oft schwierig, neben dem fachlichen Know-how auch die nationalen und internationalen Anforderungen an die Software und an den Entwicklungsprozess zu beherrschen.
