VDA: CO2-basierte Kfz-Steuer muss endlich auf den Weg gebracht werden

"Die deutsche Automobilindustrie begrüßt die Umstellung der Kfz-Steuer von Hubraum auf CO2", sagte Prof. Dr. Bernd Gottschalk, Präsident des Verbandes der Automobilindustrie (VDA). "Wir brauchen zusätzliche Anreize für die Kunden, die Kaufentscheidung stärker am CO2-Kriterium auszurichten." Die über 46 Mio. Pkw auf Deutschlands Straßen verbrauchten im Durchschnitt gut einen Liter mehr Kraftstoff als die heutigen Neuwagen, ältere Fahrzeuge sogar 2 Liter. "Jeder Anreiz zur Bestandserneuerung ist gut für den Umweltschutz. Allerdings muss diese Steuer aufkommensneutral sein, denn Autofahren muss für die Bürger bezahlbar bleiben.
