Nach Einschätzung des VDE steht das Technologiefeld "Ambient Assisted Living" vor einem rasanten Wachstum. Nach einer VDE-Studie verfügt Deutschland weltweit über die höchste Innovationskraft in der Elektrotechnik, der Medizintechnik und der Produktionstechnik/ Automation. Die IT, Mikrosystemtechnik und die Robotik haben für Ambient Assisted Living in allen Bereichen herausragende Bedeutung. Ambient Assisted Living kann zum Exportschlager "Made in Germany" werden. Entlang seiner Wertschöpfungskette werden kontinuierlich neue Dienstleistungen und Lösungen entstehen, so die VDE-Prognose. Das schafft für die beteiligten Industrien neue und bedeutende Märkte.
