VDE: Elektro- und Informationstechnik als Studienfach weiterhin beliebt

Im Jahr 2012 schrieben sich 26.449 Studienanfänger für die Studiengänge Elektrotechnik und Informationstechnik ein, so das Statistische Bundesamt. Damit ist die Beliebtheit des Studienfaches das dritte Jahr in Folge angestiegen. Zwar bedeuten die Zahlen ein Minus von 1,7 Prozent zum Vorjahr, doch im Vergleich zum Rückgang im Maschinenbau (minus 6 Prozent Studienanfänger) und im Bauingenieurwesen (minus 7 Prozent) fallen die Zahlen deutlich besser aus. Gleichzeitig ist der Anteil weiblicher Studienanfänger von 11 auf knapp 13 Prozent angewachsen. "Das ist zwar noch nicht zufriedenstellend, aber ein Schritt in die richtige Richtung", urteilt Dr.-Ing. Michael Schanz, Arbeitsmarktexperte beim VDE.
