Energieeffizienz ist ein wichtiger Bestandteil der Energiewende, der daher auch in immer mehr Normen und Vorschriften berücksichtigt wird. Eine besondere Herausforderung besteht hierbei darin, elektrische Energieverteilungsanlagen energieeffizienter zu machen. Eine Nachrüstung bestehender Anlagen mit neuen Kabeln, Stromschienen und Transformatoren eröffnet keine attraktive Option, da die Installationskosten sehr hoch sind und die Anlagen während des Austausches freigeschaltet werden müssen. Umso wichtiger ist es bereits während der Planungsphase Effizienzgesichtspunkte zu berücksichtigen - zu einem Zeitpunkt, zu dem die Mehrkosten für zusätzliche Hardware noch übersichtlich und berechenbar sind.
