Utimaco Safeware ist mit dem ersten Quartal (Juli bis September) gut ins Geschäftsjahr 2003/2004 gestartet. Der Umsatz betrug im ersten Quartal Euro 6,3 Mio. und ist damit um 6,3 Prozent gegenüber dem Vorjahr (Euro 5,9 Mio.) gewachsen. Durch die Fokussierung auf das margenstarke Lizenzgeschäft konnte das operative Ergebnis (EBIT) mit Euro 0,5 Mio. gegenüber der Vorjahresperiode (Euro -0,8 Mio.) deutlich verbessert werden. Mit Euro 0,6 Mio. wurde in den ersten drei Monaten ein positiver operativer Cash-Flow erzielt (Vorjahr Euro -0,7 Mio.).

Durch die im September 2003 erfolgreich durchgeführten Kapitalmaßnahmen, bestehend aus einer Kapitalerhöhung und einer Optionsanleihe an Investcorp, flossen
