Automotive Simulation Center Stuttgart gegründet - Wegweisende Zusammenarbeit von Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft

Ob es um das Thema Leichtbau geht oder um die Entwicklung leiser und vor allem schad-stoffarmer Fahrzeuge - in der Automobilindustrie sind numerische Simulationsmethoden zur Produktentwicklung und Optimierung unverzichtbar. Für solche Simulationen bietet das Höchstleistungsrechenzentrum (HLRS) der Universität Stuttgart mit seinen Supercomputern beste Voraussetzungen. Auf diesem Feld haben Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft jetzt eine neu-artige Zusammenarbeit gestartet: Am 7. März 2008 wird an der Universität Stuttgart das Au-tomotive Simulation Center Stuttgart (ASCS) gegründet. Gründungsmitglieder dieses ersten Transferzentrums der Universität Stuttgart sind die Universität Stuttgart, der Pkw- und Nfz-Hersteller Daimler, der Sportwagenhersteller Porsche, der Pkw-Hersteller Opel, das For-schungsinstitut für Kraftfahrwesen und Fahrzeugmotoren
