Der Forschungsschwerpunkt "Public Safety and Security" des Lehrstuhls C.I.K. (Computeranwendung und Integration in Konstruktion und Planung) der Fakultät für Maschinenbau der Universität Paderborn ist aus 2.071 Bewerbungen, die am Wettbewerb "365 Orte im Land der Ideen" teilgenommen haben, ausgewählt worden. Die Jury unter Vorsitz von Prof. Martin Roth, Generaldirektor der Staatlichen Kunstsammlungen zu Dresden, und Prof. Michael Hüther, Direktor des Instituts der Deutschen Wirtschaft Köln, hat insgesamt 365 Projekte nominiert, die die Kreativität und Innovationskraft Deutschlands unter Beweis stellen. Im Rahmen dieser größten Veranstaltungsreihe Deutschlands präsentiert sich an jedem Tag des Jahres 2009 ein ausgewähltes Projekt der Öffentlichkeit.
