Hohe internationale Auszeichnung für Bremer Bodenkundler

Dr. Thilo Eickhorst von der Universität Bremen ist eine hohe internationale Ehrung zuteil geworden. Die International Union of Soil Science (IUSS) hat dem Bodenkundler kürzlich beim 19th World Congress of Soil Science (WCSS) im australischen Brisbane den "Young Scientist Publication Award" verliehen. Dr. Eickhorst wurde damit für Publikationen ausgezeichnet, die einen international anerkannten und fortschrittlichen Beitrag zur Anwendung und Weiterentwicklung mikromorphologischer Methoden geliefert haben. Damit wurde insbesondere die Entwicklung von Verfahren zur Detektion von Mikroorganismen in ungestörten Böden mit Hilfe von Gensonden hervorgehoben, die sowohl für die Bodenmikromorphologie als auch bodenbiologische Fragen wegweisend sind.
